SUMMARY:Vaccines during Pregnancy: Protecting Maternal and Infant Health
DESCRIPTION:Join the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID) and partner organizations\, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG)\, and the National Coalition for Infant Health (NCfIH)\, for a webinar discussion on strategies to help prevent infectious diseases and increase uptake of recommended vaccines during pregnancy. Speakers will discuss vaccines commonly recommended during pregnancy in the US. \nNFID Medical Director Robert (Bob) H. Hopkins\, Jr.\, MD\, will moderate the discussion with NFID Vice President Kevin A. Ault\, MD\, Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker MD School of Medicine\, and NFID Director Flor M. Muñoz\, MD\, MSc\, Associate Professor of Pediatrics\, Infectious Diseases at Baylor College of Medicine. \nAt the conclusion of the activity\, participants will be able to: \n\nDescribe the importance of immunization in protecting pregnant women and infants\nDiscuss disparities in immunization rates among pregnant women in the US\nIdentify strategies for improving vaccination coverage among pregnant women in the US\n\nThere is no fee to participate in this activity\, but pre-registration is required.
