Threats to vaccine access are escalating as the Trump Administration continues to increase distrust in our public health system. Last June, Secretary Kennedy fired all 17 members of CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP). The panel was replaced with vaccine-skeptical members who lack expertise. Six months later, the panel voted to change the decades-long universal vaccine recommendation for a Hepatitis B birth dose for newborns, despite no known benefit to delaying the first dose. Efforts to dismantle vaccine recommendations and access remain rampant.
Although changes at the federal level impact vaccine access, there is a unique opportunity for advocates to protect access at the state and local level. In this webinar, we will unveil Families USA’s new vaccine advocacy toolkit to provide advocates with tangible steps to protect vaccine access in your community. We’ll also hear from experts who will break down vaccine policy at the state and local level, as well as a VYF advocate who will share why vaccines are important to her.
