Henderson County Immunization Coalition

Description

HCIC is a unified effort made by our county’s pediatric and family medicine providers and their support staff that is meant to share information and resources in order to improve local immunization rates and thereby decreasing the prevalence of VPD.

Mission

Improving immunization rates by elimination barriers, sharing resources, and collaborating to stop the spread of vaccine preventable diseases.

Goals

*Establish a clear line of communication with private pediatric and family medicine providers and local public health officials
*Keep providers and their support staff up to date with recommendations and VFC requirements
*Provide educational resources for pediatric health care providers to utilize when having discussions with vaccine hesitant parents that facilitates empathetic and informative communication
*Provide opportunities for the community to be informed about the science and research involved in vaccine safety and development.
*Send a strong, unified message to the community from local pediatric and family medicine providers on the safety, necessity and efficacy of immunizations.
