Description

The Virginia Immunization Coalition is a statewide coalition of immunization professionals and community leaders working together to improve immunization coverage across the Commonwealth. Our vision is a future where the quality and length of life of Virginians are not impacted by a disease that could have been prevented by immunizations.

Mission

The mission of ImmunizeVA is to protect the health and well-being of all Virginians by achieving and maintaining full immunization protection through education, advocacy, statewide collaboration, and the promotion of equity.

Goals

Our goals include:
1. Disseminate science-based immunization information, expertise, and resources to providers, parents, and the public.
2. Provide educational opportunities for healthcare professionals and community stakeholders.
3. Raise immunization levels to align with national goals by ensuring equitable and accessible immunizations are available statewide.
4. Advocate for policies based on science and use of sensible disease prevention approaches.
5. Improve immunization data collection, management, and access across the state.
6. Foster strategic public and private partnerships to facilitate collaboration across the Commonwealth.

ImmunizeVA was founded in 2020, building off the legacy of Project Immunize Virginia (PIV), an immunization coalition that was active in Virginia from 1995 – 2012.
