Minnesota Coalition for Adult Immunization

The Minnesota Coalition for Adult Immunization is comprised of representatives from state and local health departments, Medicare Part A fiscal intermediary, and Medicare Part B carrier, the Minnesota Visiting Nurse Association, major health plans, the CMS Quality Improvement Organization for the state, the V.A. Medical Center, and the national Immunization Action Coalition.

Mission

MCAI seeks to increase adult vaccination rates using strategies which increase demand, enhance access and eliminate barriers to immunization.

Goals

To conduct an annual conference on adult immunization issues for healthcare professionals in long-term care, managed care, primary care, and public health.
To raise awareness about the importance and need for adults to be vaccinated against influenza, pneumococcal disease, meningococcal disease, human papillomavirus, tetanus/diphtheria/pertussis, and zoster.
