Founded in 1973, the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to educating the public and healthcare professionals about the burden, causes, prevention, and treatment of infectious diseases across the lifespan.

Mission

Educate the public and healthcare professionals about the burden, causes, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of infectious diseases across the lifespan.

NFID offers a comprehensive catalog of live and online education programs featuring leading subject matter experts. The clinical and research-focused programs are designed to bring together professionals in infectious diseases, epidemiology, and public health, from academia, government, and industry to discuss and collectively address the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases. Through media outreach, social media engagement, public service announcements, and other awareness activities, NFID educates the general public and at-risk populations about the burden, causes, prevention, and treatment of infectious diseases across the lifespan.
