Northern Utah Immunization Coalition (NUIC)
Description
The Northern Utah Immunization Coalition was formed in 1993 to address the low immunization levels among two-year-old children in northern Utah, in the counties of Weber, Morgan, and Davis. The Coalition’s mission is to promote early childhood and adolescent immunizations and educate the community through effective action and leadership. Adult activities are also included. It is comprised of a chairperson and individuals representing county/city schools, physician’s offices, childcare centers, the Ogden Junior League, the PTA, local health departments, and local
hospitals.
Goals
2022-2023 NUIC Goals:
• Monitor and encourage community partners to promote vaccine
requirements for university students in Utah.
• Recommend 16-year-old vaccine visits to providers. Promote “Vaccinate
Before You Drive” or “License After You Vaccinate” or “Vaccinate Before
You Graduate”.
• Promote and encourage clinics, pharmacies, and all providers to
participate and utilize USIIS (Utah Statewide Immunization Information
System).
• Encourage HPV Vaccine for all age 9 and over.
• Promote recommended Influenza and COVID vaccinations.
• Support Medicare Part B coverage for ACIP-recommended vaccines.
• Support efforts for universal HepB vaccination as per ACIP
recommendations
