San Diego Immunization Coalition (SDIC)
Description
Celebrating 30 years in 2021, SDIC is a community coalition that partners with over 400 diverse organizations, including federally qualified health centers, government, WIC programs, hospital organizations, community clinics, health plans, universities, schools, pharmaceutical companies, and non-profits. SDIC has been active since 1991, making it one of the oldest continuously operating immunization coalitions in the nation. SDIC receives in-kind staff and logistical support from the Epidemiology and Immunization Services Branch of the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency Public Health Services Department. SDIC hosts bimonthly general meetings that average 50 participants, monthly Steering Committee meetings, quarterly webinars and trainings, and two educational summits a year.
Mission
The mission of SDIC is to increase immunization rates and improve the health of the residents of San Diego County by raising awareness and providing education about vaccine-preventable diseases.
