Vaccine Ambassadors

Description

Vaccine Ambassadors is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation that was created by healthcare providers and advocates of children’s health who believe that opportunity begins with good health and that access to vaccines is a basic human right for all. Vaccines are one of the greatest investments we can make in a community with an enduring impact. Vaccine Ambassadors funds the purchase and delivery of vaccines and related supplies and services to children and families residing in Latin America and the Caribbean. We work in partnership with the Pan American Health Organization, Regional Office of the World Health Organization for the Americas.

Mission

Working with partners to achieve equitable access and uptake of life-saving vaccines for everyone—one vaccine at a time, one community at a time.

Goals

1. Increase immunization coverage globally and decrease deaths/disabilities from vaccine-preventable diseases (VPDs).
2. Increase awareness and advocacy for universal coverage of vaccines for all.
3. Aid in the dialogue between healthcare providers and the public on the importance of immunizations in an effort to increase local immunization rates.
