Save the date: IZCoalitions Network webinar on vaccination errors scheduled for October 10
Please save the date! The Immunization Action Coalition (IAC) invites you to participate in a 1-hour webinar for immunization coalition leaders, members, and those who collaborate with coalitions on Thursday, October 6, at noon ET (11:00 am CT). The webinar will focus on how to avoid common vaccination errors, and report them if made.
Speakers will include:
- JoEllen Wolicki, BSN, RN is a nurse educator with the Education, Information and Partnership Branch, National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, CDC. She will share common vaccine-related questions and practice blunders as communicated to the CDC experts via nipinfo@cdc.gov, and the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System.
- Michael Cohen, RPh, MS, ScD (hon.), DPS (hon.) is president of the Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP), a nonprofit healthcare organization that specializes in understanding the causes of medication errors and providing error-reduction strategies to the healthcare community, policy makers, and the public. He will discuss how the ISMP Vaccine Errors Reporting Program (VERP) can help improve vaccination safety.
- Teresa Anderson, DDS, MPH, consultant, Immunization Action Coalition, will provide a summary of the vaccination errors communicated to IAC via email, and useful resources to help avoid such errors.
