Save the date: IZCoalitions Network webinar on the anti-vaccine movement featuring Erica DeWald, ECBT, is scheduled for August 29

Please save the date! The Immunization Action Coalition (IAC) invites you to participate in a 1-hour webinar for immunization coalition leaders, members, and those who collaborate with coalitions on Tuesday, August 29, at 12:00 p.m. ET (11:00 a.m. CT). The webinar will feature Erica DeWald discussing the current state of the anti-vaccine movement in the United States.

Erica DeWald, director of advocacy for Every Child By Two (ECBT), has over a decade of experience communicating vaccine issues to the public, media, and legislators. She has assisted with the development, launch, and promotion of ECBT’s “Vaccinate Your Baby” and “Vaccinate Your Family” campaigns. She also co-chaired the patient education workgroup for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Adult and Influenza Immunization Summit for two years.

We will circulate the final agenda and call-in information the week before the conference call. Hope you all can make it!

Abbreviated National Conference for Immunization Coalitions and Partnerships will be part of the Nevada Health Conference scheduled for November 13–14

The 2017 Nevada Health Conference is scheduled for November 13–14 at Green Valley Ranch in Henderson, Nevada (Las Vegas area). The “People. Purpose. Passion: The Roadway to a Healthier Nevada” conference theme highlights innovative and timely health-related topics in the areas of immunization, maternal child health, chronic disease, public health policy, media training, and more.

The Day 1 breakout sessions typically cover current immunization, maternal child health, and chronic disease topics. The Day 2 sessions allow attendees to choose from four session tracks for a day long, deep dive into that subject matter. One of these four tracks will cover coalition-focused topics, such as advocacy on the national level, fundraising, best practices, collaboration, coalition development and building, and more.

As there is no full-scale National Conference for Immunization Coalitions and Partnerships (NCICP) planned for 2017 or 2018, immunization coalition and nonprofit leaders who usually attend NCICP should consider attending the Nevada Health Conference. In addition, there will be opportunities for coalition and nonprofit leaders to set up and participate in extra meetings before and after the conference hours.

Participants can register for either or both days. Early bird registration has been extended through today, August 4.
