The National Network of Immunization Coalitions highlights Immunization Task Force of Nebraska

The Immunization Task Force of Nebraska is a nonprofit coalition dedicated to vaccine education for the public and healthcare providers. The coalition aims to promote current national immunization recommendations and raise immunization rates in the state to meet national goals; facilitate partnerships among community groups, healthcare providers, and other agencies throughout Nebraska; encourage and support local and statewide development of immunization information systems; increase public education on immunization and advocate policy and legislative issues relating to immunizations in Nebraska; and to promote accurate assessment of the immunization status in Nebraska.

The Immunization Task Force of Nebraska is run strictly by volunteers who are retired healthcare providers. Members are passionate about promoting immunizations based on the current ACIP recommendations.

The coalition hosts around four tabling events each year at health fairs where it highlights vaccine-preventable diseases and offers communication screenings for people looking for their vaccination status. The coalition also hosts the Annual Immunize Nebraska Conference in May. Presenters are nationally and locally known to the coalition and provide education on a wide variety of topics. The Immunization Task Force of Nebraska also holds a Governor’s Proclamation in August at the beginning of National Immunization Awareness Month.

The coalition has been involved in the passing of all evolving state immunization school mandates and the development of the Nebraska immunization registry over its 30+ year history.

The Immunization Task Force of Nebraska has a legislative/advocacy committee that tracks immunization issues at the state level. In the past, the coalition has written letters to representatives at the state level to voice concerns or give support to specific issues.

The Immunization Initiative of the Massachusetts Chapter of the AAP (MCAAP) partners with organizations to increase vaccine confidence in Massachusetts through the Massachusetts Vaccine Confidence Project

The Immunization Initiative of the Massachusetts Chapter of the AAP (MCAAP) and partners are working to increase vaccine confidence in Massachusetts through their Massachusetts Vaccine Confidence Project (MVCP). The MVCP’s mission is to increase vaccine confidence throughout Massachusetts to ensure that all residents are fully protected against vaccine-preventable diseases. People who lack vaccine confidence are more likely to seek exemptions to school-required immunizations and to pass on recommended vaccinations, which can put children and communities at risk. To increase confidence, MVCP collaborates with individuals and organizations that support immunization, develops science-based immunization resources and training materials, and educates healthcare professionals and the public.

Immunize Kansas Coalition kicks off 2025 with its first “Advocacy Day” at the state capitol

The Immunize Kansas Coalition (IKC) kicked off 2025 with its first Advocacy Day at the Kansas State Capitol on January 30. Coalition members, partners, and community advocates joined together to share with lawmakers the vital role immunization plays in protecting Kansans against vaccine-preventable diseases. The day began with the coalition meeting, followed by a mock role-play training session on how to effectively speak with Kansas lawmakers.

After the training session, advocates set up a resource table at the Capitol to share educational resources with legislators, staffers, and visitors to the Capitol. Other advocates ventured through the halls of the Capitol to visit legislators’ offices, inviting them to attend IKC’s luncheon.

Table staffers asked visitors if they were up to date on their vaccinations and supporters were invited to write personal testimonies on postcards, which would later be sent to Kansas legislators.

Throughout the day, IKC advocates went door-to-door to the office of each senator and representative, handing out copies of its popular Vaccine Fears Overturned by Facts booklet, a letter from IKC Chair Brandan Kennedy, and its Protecting Kansans brochure. By the end of the day, all 165 legislators had received resources and facts-based evidence on the importance of immunization policies in protecting Kansans from vaccine-preventable diseases.

Association of Immunization Managers shares customizable Shingles Awareness Week social media templates and pediatric vaccination media assets as well as the Immunization Coalition Toolkit and the updated guide, “Connecting the Dots: Vaccine Confidence”

The Association of Immunization Managers (AIM) offers several new resources for coalition members:

Shingles Awareness Week 2025: Social Media Templates were established to use during Shingles Awareness Week from February 24–March 2, to raise awareness around misconceptions about the risks of developing shingles. AIM has created four social media messages for members and partners to use on various social media platforms during the awareness week. The unbranded images can be customized with your department’s/organization’s logo.

Pediatric Vaccination Media Assets are plug-and-play ads with public awareness campaign materials that can be used to educate parents on pediatric vaccinations. AIM partnered with CDC and CommunicateHealth, Inc. to create a media library of free co-brandable assets encouraging new and expecting parents to vaccinate their babies. This media library contains digital streaming, radio, print, social media, and outdoor media materials that are production-ready, saving immunization programs the time and cost of developing a media campaign from scratch. These messages have been field-tested with new and expecting parents and are fully customizable to feature your organization’s logo or to co-brand with AIM.

All of the files are stored in AIM’s Dropbox. To request the free media campaign files, please complete the short request form here.

Immunization Coalition Toolkit: Resources for Building, Maintaining, and Sustaining Immunization Coalitions is a comprehensive free resource developed by AIM. Based on extensive formative research, this toolkit offers a guide to starting and sustaining immunization coalitions, tip sheets, a landscape analysis, case studies, operational examples, and a coalition map. Whether you are an immunization program manager, a coalition leader, part of a health department, or involved in community-based organizations, this toolkit is designed to support and guide you in building and maintaining successful immunization coalitions.

Connecting the Dots: Vaccine Confidence Toolkit, AIM’s updated guide, includes vaccine confidence tools distilled into a one-page, easy-to-reference guide that covers topics including effective communication and addressing misinformation and disinformation. Each column includes information tailored to immunization programs, their partners, and healthcare providers.
