The National Network of Immunization Coalitions highlights New Jersey Immunization Network
The New Jersey Immunization Network (NJIN) is a statewide coalition of over 600 members from across the state representing public and private organizations. NJIN is jointly cofounded and led by the New Jersey Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics (NJAAP) and the New Jersey Academy of Family Physicians (NJAFP).
The New Jersey Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (NJAAP) and its statewide pediatric membership have long championed efforts to protect children and their families from vaccine-preventable diseases. Targeted advocacy and educational initiatives, supported by the tireless efforts of pediatric medical homes from across the state, have and continue to work together to ensure immunization rates in New Jersey are among the highest in the country.
The mission of the New Jersey Immunization Network is to protect the health of all individuals through timely, age-appropriate immunization against vaccine-preventable diseases by educating the public, healthcare professionals, and policymakers about vaccine safety and benefits.
Each year, NJIN works with large healthcare institutions to host a series of Flu Warriors Festivals. In 2024, NJIN hosted 7 festivals spanning the state of New Jersey, resulting in 940 individuals receiving COVID-19 and flu vaccines free of charge. In 2025, the Flu Festival season will target new areas with an emphasis on populations with low vaccination rates.
In 2024, the Network began hosting a series of Community Baby Showers, an initiative to assist pregnant women, children, and infants. A community baby shower is an event held to celebrate and support mothers-to-be in communities by providing them with essential resources, information, and a supportive network as they prepare for the arrival of their babies. It aims to empower mothers, promote health and well-being, foster connections among community members, and create a positive and nurturing environment for mothers and their families. The New Jersey Immunization Network offers a sense of community to parents before and after the birth of their baby, ensuring they feel celebrated and supported during this special time in their lives. At these events, attendees receive multilingual educational materials and access to resources that are available to them in their communities. Additionally, guests receive food and refreshments, giveaway items, and a chance to win large raffle prizes. Since its inception, NJIN has hosted over two hundred women, children, and their families at these showers.
The Network holds bimonthly general membership meetings, which include educational lectures on vaccines from renowned speakers who focus on vaccine-preventable diseases.
The New Jersey Immunization Network hosts several webinars throughout the year. Each webinar is chosen for topical relevance and provides education about the ever-changing vaccine landscape. View NJIN’s archived webinars on its Featured Webinars main page.

It also includes an outbreak map that tracks cases by state, as well as their new Protect Against Measles campaign, which features social media graphics, captions, and more.

National Infant Immunization Week is April 21–28; prepare your promotion activities with CDC’s digital media toolkit
National Infant Immunization Week (NIIW), April 21–28, highlights the importance of protecting infants from vaccine-preventable diseases and celebrates the achievements of immunization partners. Since 1994, hundreds of communities have joined together during NIIW to celebrate the crucial role vaccination plays in protecting our children, communities, and public health.
CDC and the American Academy of Pediatrics recommend that children stay on track with their well-child appointments and routine vaccinations. Completing the recommended vaccinations by age 2 years is the best way to protect young children from 15 potentially life-threatening diseases. In light of the recent measles outbreaks and the challenges of the pandemic years, these messages are more important than ever for families to hear.
CDC makes it simple to plan your NIIW activities by using their promotional materials including English and Spanish logos, sample social media content, social graphics, and key messages. Please share your posts using the hashtag #ivax2protect. Find more actionable strategies, resources, and data to support getting people of all ages on-schedule with their routine immunizations.
