The National Network of Immunization Coalitions highlights Grandparents for Vaccines
Grandparents for Vaccines is a volunteer-run organization, formed in partnership with Voices for Vaccines, Nurses for America, and other organizations. It was formed to counter anti-vaccine sentiment by using the voices of grandparents to protect grandchildren. The organization is mobilizing the voices of the 67 million American grandparents who are standing up to make sure grandchildren do not suffer the deadly illnesses they experienced as children.
Grandparents for Vaccines was launched on Grandparents’ Day, September 7, with state leaders from around the nation organizing to share stories of grandparents from each state, which were heard on local news and amplified by social media.
The organization has formed groups across the nation to gather stories of what life was like before vaccines ended the deadly threats of polio, meningitis, whooping cough, and measles. It will share stories of siblings who died or were left impaired, parents who struggled with polio all their lives, and relatives who have died from vaccine-preventable diseases. It will share a vision of what America is plunging into and ask the nation to reverse course before it is too late. Grandchildren look to their grandparents to protect them, and Grandparents for Vaccines is taking up this call.
Grandparents for Vaccines will also be speaking directly to parents to change the conversation about vaccines and move parents toward getting their children vaccinated.
Although new, Grandparents for Vaccines is already being noticed for its call to action to protect grandchildren across America from vaccine-preventable diseases.
Find out more at www.grandparentsforvaccines.com, subscribing to Grandparents for Vaccines on YouTube, and by visiting the social media channels run by Physicians for a Health Democracy on Facebook and Blue Sky.
You can also Sign up for future communications from Grandparents for Vaccines.
